The
aft cabin dual sofas have a king bed, or alternatively, a two individual
berth capability. The two berths qualify for FAR Part 135 crew rest use.
The “sixteen G” sofas presented a unique design problem. Avia
softened their otherwise unattractive dimensions dictated by new generation
Federal Air Regulations and “HIC” standards.
“Book” and “butt” joint techniques permit the lay-up of multiple leaves of continuous grain burl wood. This is how large fields of such wood can be placed on bulkheads despite the small size of burl wood logs. Making certain that each butt joint of every veneer leaf is nearly invisible requires extra care in several different phases of the construction and refinishing process. This is only one example of the challenges involved in completion management - an undertaking where success is measured by the fine-tuning of minutia. |
